Conversation Partners Program

Applications are now open

Emory's Conversation Partner Program is a volunteer program that pairs domestic and international Emory community members to create friendships and bridge the gap between domestic and international community members. The program primarily focuses on the exchange of culture and cultural experiences, since we hope to foster cross-cultural exchanges of interests and values. Participants will be matched based on preferences (including nationality, language, and interests) and are expected to meet twice a month.

Expectations of Program

  • One semester commitment
  • Must attend the kick-off party at the beginning of the semester
  • Expected to meet minimum of one hour, once a week (~4 hours per month)
  • Suggested to meet on campus to begin, and always meet in a mutually agreeable place
  • Respond to a few surveys about experience throughout the semester

Applications to the Conversation Program are available HERE. Participants will be contacted once a suitable partner has been found. Depending on the time of year, this could take up to several weeks before a suitable match is available.
